From 1910, a reason for the progressive strengthening of the artillery, the "Campo Trincerato" of Mestre was ulteriorly reinforced with a curtain of forts and powder magazines more external and "modern". Forte Bazzera is the only powder magazine of this new system of fortification upto today.
Today the fort is the site of theatre and musical events, fairs and markets, and thanks to its position close to the North of the lagoon, is transformed into a water park.
